LOS ANGELES – Creature-creating designer Stan Winston, who won Oscars for his special-effects work on Jurassic Park, Terminator 2 and Aliens, received a star Friday on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Terminator director James Cameron and star Arnold Schwarzenegger joined the crowd outside the Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions on Hollywood Boulevard.

"Stan is one of the most talented men in the world. Where would I be today if he hadn't created 'The Terminator?''' Schwarzenegger said.

Winston's was the 2,173rd star on the Walk of Fame.

The designer came to Hollywood to become an actor. He found work as a makeup artist instead, which led to his career in special effects.

Recent films featuring his designs were End of Days, Galaxy Quest and Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.
